Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span?

The Monroe Community Coalition is proud to begin a community conversation about problematic technology use and what you can do about it. Please join us for  a special, one-night only, free screening of the documentary, “Screenagers,” hosted by the Galaxy Monroe 12 Theatre. This film is appropriate for teens and adults, but an RSVP is required since space is limited.

Screenagers will show promptly at 7pm, but come early to explore our resource tables in the lobby and connect with local service providers. The film will conclude with a brief panel discussion to show how parents have successfully put boundaries around their child’s screen and smartphone use!

In SCREENAGERS, Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes the vulnerable corners of family life, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction.

Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best find balance and navigate the digital world.
